What BrainLift is

BrainLift is a study app for iPhone, iPad and the web. You give it a photo of your notes, a PDF, typed text or just a topic, and it builds a quiz and a flashcard deck from that material. You study the deck with spaced repetition, and the questions you get wrong on a quiz can be turned into their own deck to practice. An AI tutor chat is there for explanations, including charts and diagrams.

It launched on the App Store in March 2026 and is built by an independent developer.

Features worth showing

  • Photo to quiz. Snap a page of handwritten or typed notes. BrainLift reads it and writes multiple-choice questions, with difficulty and question count you choose.
  • PDF to flashcards. Upload lecture slides or a chapter. Get a deck with one idea per card.
  • Practice my mistakes. Questions you miss on a quiz become a flashcard deck with answers and explanations.
  • Spaced repetition. Rate each card after you answer it. The schedule decides when you see it again.
  • AI tutor. Ask for an explanation, a worked example or a diagram.
  • Share by link or QR code. Send a quiz or deck to a classmate; they can open it without retyping anything.
  • Daily quests, XP and streaks. Small goals that keep a study habit going.

How AI is used

Study material that a user uploads or photographs is processed by third-party AI models (currently OpenAI and Google Gemini) to generate questions, cards and explanations. AI-generated content can contain mistakes, and the app says so; users are encouraged to check important answers against their own course materials.
